American Airlines barred teen for 3 years for "skiplagging" claims his father (insider.com)

Wow, so American Airlines detained this guy based on the state of his driver's license and refused to provide the service he paid for. Real class acts, eh?

Anecdotally, I have also experienced that same company refusing to provide the service I paid for. They effectively stole a couple thousand dollars from me, by canceling the flight I needed to get to a new job across the country. I had even paid to upgrade my ticket to business-class, for the first time in my life. There were a few days left until I had to be at the new job, but they didn't have another flight available that could make it in time. So, I booked a flight on a different airline and made it with plenty of time to spare. AA refused to refund the ticket, every time I contact them they've said "you canceled the ticket, so you are not entitled to a refund." What a bizarre company!
